Chapter 850 Issues Commemorative Coin

Vietnam Veterans of America Kent County Chapter 850 has issued a commemorative coin to mark the 10th anniversary of the Kent County Veterans Memorial Park in Dover, Del. Designed by chapter members Ken Bodine and Woody Postle, the coins will be sold to support the park; 500 were struck.

“We decided that we needed something — a special commemorative coin that would mark the 10th anniversary,” chapter member Dave Skocik told Delaware Public Media. “The coin will sell for $10 apiece, and all the money will go toward maintaining the park.”

The coin features a listing of the park’s memorials on one side and the Canines Assisting Service Heroes emblem on the other. The Kent County Veterans Memorial Park honors area service members lost in Vietnam, Korea and the Middle East, as well as Gold Star Mothers and Families. CASH provides training for service dogs for veterans.
