Chapter 327 Members Honored in Student Salute

Members of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 327 were honored as part of the annual “Salute to Honorable Citzenship” staged by the Valley Road School in Stanhope, N.J. Students, faculty, staff and community members honored local veterans with songs, speeches and special presentations.

Operation Chillout founder Ray Chimileski provided a keynote speech. Founded in 2000, Operation Chillout provides mobile outreach to veterans suffering from PTSD and homelessness in 21 counties in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

Vietnam veterans Jim Keeler and Frank Arminio, Chapter 327 president, said that the students’ tributes were meaningful. “It means a lot when we never got any of this when we returned home,” Arminio told the New Jersey Herald.
