Traveling Wall Brought to NH by Chapter 41

Chapter 41 presented The Vietnam Veteran Traveling Memorial Wall at Southern New Hampshire University in Hooksett, NH in early October. 

Chapter members worked over a year on the Wall’s return visit to the Granite State.

The Wall arrived by the Patriot Guard Riders’ escort to a welcoming ceremony. On one of the days of the Wall display, there was a POW/MIA Candlelight Vigil. There was also a wreath laying presentation for Gold Star families on another day of the Wall’s visit.

The display included 227 American flags in memory of those from New Hampshire who died in the conflict. That number includes 6 men who are POW/MIA.

In keeping with the VVA founding principle ‘never again will one generation of veterans abandon another’, Chapter 41 also presented a memorial to the dozens from New Hampshire that were killed in the recent war on terror.

The traveling Wall replica is about 80% of the size of the monument in Washington, DC. It bears the names of the over 58,000 men and eight women who were killed in action in the Vietnam War.
