Chapter 1 Starts Memorial Replacement

Chapter 1 of Rutland, VT have started to replace the Rutland County Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Main Street Park.

The original had 2 sculptors, including John Reno, a Vietnam veteran. When Reno died, he had only completed the head of the sculpture and Donald Ramey finished the remainder of the memorial, which was dedicated in 2000.

Chapter 1 has appealed to city officials about establishing a fund to maintain the memorial once the chapter’s members have died and are no longer able to care for the memorial.
