Chapter 227 Screens ‘Thank You for Your Service’
Northern Virginia Dean K. Phillips Memorial Chapter 227 hosted a screening of Thank You for Your Service, a documentary about how the military and the VA handle veterans’ mental health needs, on January 24 at a movie theater in Fairfax, VA.
The film focuses on four Iraq War veterans struggling with mental issues. It also includes interviews with former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Adm. Mike Mullen, Gens. David Petraeus and Loree Sutton, the writers Sebastian Junger and Dexter Filkins, and U.S. Sen. Patty Murray.
There was a panel discussion after the film. Chapter member Bruce Waxman organized the event.
