Member of Chapter 267 is Veteran of the Year in Michigan

Dearborn, MI

U.S. Navy veteran Charles E. “Andy” Anderson will be honored as the 2016 Dearborn Veteran of the Year by the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council (DAWVC).

Anderson is the second vice president of the James Huard Chapter 267 in Dearborn, MI . He also provides leadership to the Agent Orange, POW/MIA and community affairs committees.

In 2000, Anderson was instrumental in bringing the “Moving Vietnam Wall” to his community. He also assisted in bringing the “Wall that Heals” to Dearborn. With Anderson’s support, thousands of citizens were able to remember and reflect upon the sacrifices of Vietnam veterans.

DAWVC considers a veteran’s initiative in the community, among veterans, and their personal attributes for its award. The committee is composed of past Veterans of the Year.
