Empty Chair Highlights Chapter 421’s POW/MIA Ceremony
Chapter 421 recently held its annual POW/MIA recognition ceremony in honor of all prisoners of war and those missing in action at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park in Staten Island, NY .
The ceremony featured a march with honor guard, speeches, and singing of the national anthem. The event also had an ‘Empty Chair’ ceremony resulting in moments of silence and reflection.
Event attendees included Rolling Thunder and local elected officials Assemblyman Michael Cusick, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, Borough President James Oddo and Councilman Steven Matteo.
